BS Johnson
May 30, 2004

Pleased to see that there is finally to be a biography of BS Johnson, a review of which can be found at Guardian Unlimited. Since I first read Christie Malry's Own Double Entry there haven't been, as far as I was aware, any of his other works in print. But this biography, by Jonathan Coe, is to be followed by an Omnibus of three other novels in June... Will "Albert Angelo" have the holed pages to allow the reader to choose the order that they read the chapters in though?

There are some varied and interesting links and articles over at kempa.com. One of which is this link to Pat Lawlor Design. A presentation on how they came up with the design for the Monopoly pinball game... They are probably more famous for the design of the Addams Family game where "Thing" reaches out and pick's up the ball [you know the one!] but still interesting if you've ever fantasised about creating your own pinball game? Not that I ever have of course!!!

I stumbled across this site because I was looking for an image of a Sinclair ZX Spectrum and there's one amongst a series of articles on locked grooves and vinyl data... anyway, there's loads of well researched and fascinating "did you know" type material for down the pub on this site. I was particularly amused by the tale of a record that used Morse Code, to replace some offending lyrics, being banned from radio because the only people that could understand it were Boy Scouts!

Fancy sending your own offensive Morse messages? Then you need this Morse Translator.
