TwoTone And Theatre... And A New Look Blog?
November 30, 2004
This Blog will be a year old by the end of December!
The new design should be ready for its first birthday, including the new store... Well I hope so anyway...
Been finishing the bulk of the re-re-re-design whilst watching Channel 4's smart double bill of Two Tone Britain and Putting the fun in Fundamental. [Monday]...
Some stuff I've picked up recently and haven't had time to write up...
Check out Josh Rubin's Cool Hunting site for alternative Xmas stuff... and get down to 121-135 Charing Cross Road if you're in London for some alternative "Anti-Xmas" [yeah right] art at Santa's Ghetto. If you can't make it, check out the website. Should be some Banksy pieces, Jamie Hewlett, Modern Toss and David Shrigley stuff there. Amongst others!
Also... Stuff to look out for at the Barbican coming soon... The Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre's adaptation of the Giselle story [Feb 23 - Mar 5 2005], Astronaut, by Theatre O [April/May 05]... Not to mention a Christian Marclay exhibit, 17 Feb - 2 May 2005 in the Barbican Art Gallery, where I've also still to see Communicate.
Also still need to visit the Ancient Art to Post Impressionism exhibition at The Royal Academy [on until Dec 10!!!] and Punk, at the Hospital [until Jan 23 05].

i-Pod, u-Podcast and all get Firefox!!!
November 26, 2004
Phew, long time, no blog... And it's only being laid up with a stinking cold that has given me this opportunity... I'm about half way through the sixth consecutive re-design of this site and still not satisfied with it... And I really ought to be doing something more constructive... I've been helping Jake load his i-Pod and am considering converting the starck MP3s into AAC files and creating my own little i-tunes page using Paypal... So, of course the whole site will need a complete makeover to accomodate that! But whatever it ends up like, I'm going to make it more Firefox friendly... having just downloaded version 1.0 I'm converted! The only problems I can see viewing these pages are in the CSS layers. They seem to align themselves slightly differently than in IE

Talking of "Da Pod", I saw an interesting item on Podcasting last night on TV. It uses RSS 2.0 with enclosures. There's a list of PodCast's at audio.weblogs.com... A whole new lease of life for pirate radio! And something else for me to have a go at no doubt...
Pictures of Detroit over at detroitfunk.com and more Banksy stuff at tomtom.biz...
Haven't updated my flickr account lately but have added some cool new pictures to my Britart Gallery especially like the David Wagstaffe stuff.
Got all excited after receiving an e-mail to tell me somebody had signed the Guestmap the other day and there wasn't a new entry there! Did somebody have second thoughts?
Novels in Blog form may sound like a good idea but is anybody monitoring the quality? There are reasons why some people don't get published and there are reasons why publishers have editors!
And welcome to the world to baby Caitlin [congratulations Lucy and Mark].

Interactive poetry no less...
November 05, 2004
Some 80's games to while away your days!
Get over to the wonderful Mrs Ackroyd site a wonder at the world of Mr Baker and his poetic musings. In the subject of poetry... silence is an interactive poem by Dylan Snow. Requires Shockwave 10 [you know where to find it!]
And the Guardian reports that a new film version of Master and Margarita is being made... In Russian again.
