Peepshow
May 16, 2005

Mediamatic are have organised an installation at the Stedelijk Museum CS In Amsterdam. Through small peepshow holes flickr-photos are shown on screens. You can send a message with a tag from your mobile phone to a number and a couple of seconds later there is a slideshow behind the peep-show-holes.

Also, for one week in May, the diners in Restaurant 11 will be confronted with photos by the users of Playing FLICKR select. By sending a keyword through SMS, users can request all photos on the flickr.com database that are tagged with that particular keyword. I don't know what week that is though, but I suspect it was last week!

Look out! Apparently your iPod/iTunes setup could be open to hackers. A security bug in iTunes 4.x code means that media files, if written correctly, can open up the system to all sorts of unpleasantness through the injection of hostile code.

iTunes users are being advised to update to version 4.8, which fixes the potential problem and introduces more validation of media files. It affects both Mac OS X andWindows users.vulnerable too.
