Turner Whistler Monet
May 14, 2005

Went to TWM at the Tate yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by Whistler's Etchings [Putney Bridge above] and Turner's watercolours. I thought I would only like the Monet's as I've never had much time for the other two's oils.

It was far too crowded, as expected, but interesting to find that a lot of their work was painted along the Thames, not just for the light and smog, but because of the buildings that they found so modern. Hard to believe now really!
