Son Of Dave
June 04, 2005 Hey! Son Of Dave! Crash Test Dummies guitarist Benjamin Darvill solo project was just on Later. He's been compared to Steely Dan and Beck as he mixes Blues and techno grooves. Where Steely Dan come into that I fail to see. Sounds like he's got a few Tom Waits and Captain Beefheart albums at home to me. Rufus Wainwright and Acoustic Ladyland [must dig out my old MC5 albums] were pretty damn good too. That's given me something new to go out and buy... Must get onto Rough Trade again - Since they re-vamped their website I seem to have fallen off their mailing list. I've got a few things I want to try out that I've seen on those Swell Music "Jukeboxes" -They seem to own the swellmusic.co.uk domain, but there's nothing there, so e-mail them on info at the above address to find out more. I Was in the Brixton Lounge yesterday and picked up one of their leaflets. You never can tell if they are actually playing the stuff on them though, but there were a few interesting things on this list - Notably Africanism Vol III and The Glimmers DJ Kicks album Comment | Permalink Comments: Post a Comment
