Ryoji Ikeda: Tate Modern
May 29, 2006

Ikeda ticketRyoji Ikeda etc. at Tate Modern was spectacular. Here's a video link of the usual wobbly quality...

Ryoji Ikeda

Robert Henke performed a piece, using Ableton Live via a weblink, in collaboration with Torsten "T++" Pröfrock, who performed remotely from a studio in Berlin... with the visuals following his mouse clicks over a matrix of 8 bars. I was too engrossed to film anything I'm afraid.

Alva Noto followed with a performance [of Xerrox] that could best be described as an android migraine. Didn't do it for me!

Ryoji Ikeda stole the show with datamatics [prototype], which was co-commissioned by AV Festival 06 and ZeroOne San Jose and ISEA 2006 Symposium. This piece was first performed as part of the AV Festival in Newcastle, March 2006.

I'll add more links later, but there a few on this previous post.

There appears to be a new Flickr, jag your bloody photo feature these days I see! Or is it Blogger. I've tried linking from Flickr and uploading the image via ftp and they both have the jaggies. They look fine any other way! Grrr.
