All The Gossip And Some Light Laughter
November 28, 2006

We went to see Jimmy Carr do his Gag Reflex show on Sunday. Not quite as good as the thing that was on TV recently [can't remember what that was] but not at all shabby. Not as well paced, but then it wasn't edited, obviously... but so, so wrong and funny and refreshing for it! But if "Non PC" offends your 21st Century sensibilities you'd hate it... But he is fair - He does insult everyone!

The jokes/insults come thick and fast and I realise now I can only remember the ones from the latter part of the show. Mostly "The Pirate", which I couldn't possibly repeat here but if you've seen it you'll know and if you haven't I don't doubt a DVD will follow!

Following on from Sunday's post, and thanks to e-music, I now own the entire Gossip back catalogue. Plenty more than 2 albums it appears. I now have 59 tracks including remixes!

London's Moving: How Transport Is Changing 1st Nov - 13th Jan, which is on at New London Architecture, The Building Centre, 26 Store Street, London WC1E 7BT, seems a good thing to tie in with my planned visit to the British Library's maps exhibit in the New Year [also mentioned on Sunday].

I'm hoping to get to Volume, the PlayStation sponsored installation at the V&A tomorrow...

"A luminous interactive installation will transform the V&A's John Madejski Garden this winter. Volume is a sculpture of light and sound, an array of light columns positioned dramatically in the centre of the garden. Volume responds spectacularly to human movement, creating a series of audio-visual experiences".

The piece is a collaboration between lighting designers United Visual Artists [UVA] and Robert Del Naja [alias 3D] of Massive Attack and his long-term co-writer Neil Davidge (as part of their music production company, one point six).
