Albooks?
February 23, 2007

Albooks are book and CD combo's of which Dusty in Memphis is but one. This is Dusty Springfield's magnum opus, complete with a book by Warren Zanes, once of the Del Fuegos. He explores his own love affair with this record, digging deep into the album's Memphis roots and talking to several of the key characters involved in it's making.

The books are from the 331/3 [check out their Blog] series, published by Continuum Books. There are more books in the series than there are Albooks, so far. Amazon has a list of 33 1/3 titles. Many of these titles are forthcoming so hopefully they will all end up bundled as Albooks at some point.

I'm not clear as to whether it's Rough Trade that have bundled the two together or a company called Albooks. I've only seen them on the RT [£14.99] site so far and Continuum don't mention them.

Two more from the London Art Fair list then... Just briefly, Shirley Kaneda and Marc Vaux, particularly the Lightcube series - follow the link and see for yourself. These are three dimensional objects but there is no light involved. Just paint.

OK then... That's me for the weekend. The next time I post something here Trev will be 40 and I'm sure I'll be feeling the worse for it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TREV!
