The planes are still circling this morning but the fire is out and the smoke and ash have finally cleared. Leaving us with an idyllic day of Kavos beach loveliness.Beers and salads for lunch and I've run out of books to read so I finish off the local waiter's Lardos book. It's ramshackle but I get through it and learn a few things but I really don't want to have to give him my opinion of it.
We listen to the Black Kids album again [Am I detecting elements of Prefab Sprout here?] and have olive paste and hummus on pitta with Ouzo before going out for dinner and to see if we can find any souvenirs to take back. I don't hold out too much hope for the latter.
It's back to the Greek House tonight.

After which we went next door to the Oasis Bar to watch the Portsmouth v Man Utd friendly from Nigeria. There is an impromptu pub quiz but our brains have been baked for the past week and even the simple facts seem to elude us. Sam has a couple of cocktails that urn up with sparklers in them... A "Red Rose" and a chocolatey one and I sink a few more Mythos. the measures are pretty generous but after seven drinks between us we have only spent 22 Euro's.
we're faintly pissed as we head for home. We pass Eleni's where the waiter whose book I had finished earlier is sitting tuning his Bouzouki! Neither of us has a good enough grasp of each other's language to enter into a full critique and luckily we manage to slip by with a wave.
