The Craft Of Organic Poetry
October 09, 2008

Memory CloudHurrah! I finally see a bit of study time on the horizon this weekend. I've even been and got a printer, paper, some highlighter pens, some wee Post-Its and a stapler to go with my Muji pens and filers!

Just got back from the Origin Craft Fair at Somerset House. Which, after the first aisle, I thought I might find a bit dull; but there some great bits of jewellery, glass, pottery... you know, craft stuff!

Week one runs until the 12th, then all the stands change and week two runs from the 14th - 19th October. Look out for Michel Berger [kinetic jewellery], Rachel MCK [plastic and rubber jewellery], Nutre Arayavanish and Tithi Kutchamuch [greeting card jewellery], Jacob van der Beugel [ceramic installations], MissPrint [wallcoverings] and Wendy Stevens [stainless steel handbags].

We stopped off to look at the Memory Cloud installation in Trafalgar Square on the way, which was OK but a breeze kept blowing the smoke off course so it wasn't easy to read any of the texts. The installation unites the media of text messages and smoke signals. I couldn't be bothered to send one though, so I just tried snapping a pic or two of everyone else's. That ends tomorrow if you want a squint at it. I suppose I should have made a bit of a contribution as it was National Poetry Day. I could have texted a haiku or something!

We were starving after that so we popped into Leon in the Strand, for some "wholesome, organic style fast food". No, really we did. Pretty good too... and you can bring your own bottle!
