Retrospective Procrastination
October 23, 2008 About a week ago I twittered a disgruntled sigh that I had just lost a whole post and blamed it on having the Zemanta app installed. I promptly got a direct reply from Jure at Zemanta asking me to list my woes and he would see if he could fix them.Gerhardt Richter Serpentine Gallery It transpires that the mysterious jumping cursor annoyance is a bug of theirs but the long lost post was probably Google's fault. So apologies to Zemanta. I'm still using it. So, the gist of this missing post was all of the stuff that I had been doing instead of studying. As it's all old news now I won't go into great detail. It all started on the Friday 10th with a nice veggie curry in Chutney's Drummond Street, followed by a train ride from Euston to Lichfield, during which I did actually do a little bit of studying. Then there was a Chinese somewhere on Watling Street, many visits to the pub and on the journey back to London on Monday I finally managed to finish Spook Country. Next there was a pizza at the fantastic Franco Manca Pizza in Brixton Market. There was Asahi Black Premier Lager in Wagamama [kinda like fizzy Guinness] and Cruzcampo beer in Giraffe [not so impressive]; Which followed Bill Bailey's Remarkable Guide To The Orchestra, with the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Anne Dudley at the Royal Albert Hall. On the way to the Albert Hall we popped in to look at the Gerhard Richter exhibit in the Serpentine Gallery. And I do mean popped in. It's a tiny exhibition and I'm glad we didn't go out of our way to see it. Which is as far as that post had got, but another week had passed since then and we've been back to Franco Manca, it really is good, which was before seeing Burn After Reading at the Brixton Ritzy, which I enjoyed for the overacting that most of the critics slated it for. Then it was the Affordable Art Fair which is the next post.
