Market Of Shiny Lights
December 02, 2008

UVA @ Covent GardenLook at that, I'm back already. Just had to mention United Visual Artist's latest installation in London's Covent Garden Market. We popped down this evening and I don't know if it's the credit crunch or the weather but it was really quiet.

A couple of glasses of mulled wine warmed us a bit while we waited for the next slot to operate the lights.

A couple of quid in a charity box gives you the opportunity to run your hands over a matrix of holes on a metal box that controls which of the hundreds of LEDs change colour. Not quite as absorbing as Volume was but it makes Covent Garden a lot more interesting. Leave it until December 12th and you can record a wish on 020 7818 0880 and see it projected digitally on the walls of the SpinVox Wishing Well as well. Or, if you can't wait that long, this Thursday [4th December] the marvellous Modified Toy Orchestra will be accompanying the UVA lights.
