Market Of Shiny Lights
December 02, 2008 Look at that, I'm back already. Just had to mention United Visual Artist's latest installation in London's Covent Garden Market. We popped down this evening and I don't know if it's the credit crunch or the weather but it was really quiet.A couple of glasses of mulled wine warmed us a bit while we waited for the next slot to operate the lights. A couple of quid in a charity box gives you the opportunity to run your hands over a matrix of holes on a metal box that controls which of the hundreds of LEDs change colour. Not quite as absorbing as Volume was but it makes Covent Garden a lot more interesting. Leave it until December 12th and you can record a wish on 020 7818 0880 and see it projected digitally on the walls of the SpinVox Wishing Well as well. Or, if you can't wait that long, this Thursday [4th December] the marvellous Modified Toy Orchestra will be accompanying the UVA lights.
